Crude Linguistic Analysis with Yelp Reviews

Link: http://www.yelp.com/wordmap/sd/cheap

This is a cute first attempt of summarizing Yelp review data visually. The problem with the data here is that the concentrated red areas (I use the “cheap” keyword) are mostly areas that contain reviews. And 1 restaurant with 40 reviews mentioning “cheap” food would be more prominent than 15 restaurants in an area with 2 reviews per restaurant mentioning “cheap” food.

Also, the implicit assumption is that the word “cheap” is mostly used in referring to prices of the food.
