After a recent update of MIUI OS, my Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 now runs something called Media Center when I swipe up. This is annoying because swiping up is also the gesture I use to alt-tab between apps.
To disabled Media Center from invoking, start by going to Settings -> Home Screen -> Default launcher (or just search for it).
This brings up the Home Screen menu, which has the option to change what happens when you swipe up or down.
