I use PureVPN for my VPN needs. I recently come across the following error:
"VPN Error: 720: A connection to the remote computer could not be established. You might need to change the network settings for this connection."
PureVPN reports errors at the bottom of the app as it happens, and also logs in in the "support" section (Support and Packages -> Support).
After Googling around and trying a few things, I find this working solution at https://forum.purevpn.com/forum/computer/windows/88915-windows-error-720.
As noted in the solution, it appears 4 of my miniport drivers show error under Window's Device Manager. I "update" the driver to something I can remove – as suggested by the article – and then remove the drivers. After remove, PureVPN can connect again.
For my situation, I did not need to run devcon.exe as noted in the solution. The driver reinstalled after reboot.

control.exe %windir%\system32\sysdm.cplEDIT: I come across the issue again--only this time the miniport drivers appear fine (i.e., no error under Window's Device Manager.) Removing all the miniport drivers and rebooting still fixed my issue.
